Last night, I sat down and made a Meal Plan chart, so that I can plan what it is I am going to eat for my 5-6 meals every day. Planning is key for me. Once I get in the groove of planning and eating my 5-6 meals a day, I need to focus on portion control. That is another biggie for me.
What I Ate Today:
Meal 1-Oatmeal with Almond butter and fruit-sweetened jam
Meal 2-N/A
Meal 3-Carrot Soup, Black bean and Lentil Salad with Quinoa
Meal 4-Wasa cracker and
Meal 5-Eggs with veggies and clean potato casserole
Meal 6-

The Journey Begins...
Today I have decided to try to "eat clean". That means eating foods as close to their natural state as possible, therefore avoiding processed foods. Since the birth of my daughter 5 1/2 weeks ago, I really feel like I need to take better care of myself, and that includes getting back into my pre-pregnancy jeans. Oh how I miss them!! I'm hoping this new way of eating and thinking will help me achieve my goals.
Everyone has their own definitions and guidelines of what they consider "clean". Ultimately, we have to what works best for us, even if it means we're only eating clean 90% of the time. Clean eating is a lifestyle-not a diet. We all, as individuals, have to make it workable in our own lives.
As I began reading about "Clean Eating", I realized that I have been doing most of these things already. There are things I could be doing better, of course. I need to work on some things and plan my meals better. I also need to revamp my grocery list to reflect the better eating habits.
I hope to post some yummy recipes that I've tried and links to some blogs that I'm following along the way. We'll see how this goes.
